The winning Premier Mixed team will secure a free place at the World Championship next year.
Total Recon is organised by Murraylands Multisports (MMI) with Morgan Coull as the Race Director. The race will serve as the 2025 Oceania Championship and the winning premier mixed team will be Oceania Champions and secure a free place at the World Championship next year.
Morgan has raced XPD four times, competed in most of the other Oceania Series races and was a finisher at Eco-Challenge Fiji with Team Aussie Rescue. As Chairman of MMI he’s organised numerous sporting events and is on a mission to re-introduce Adventure Racing to South Australia.
Teams Contesting the Oceania Champiosnhip’s course can expect to trek/run 30-40kms (over 3 legs) mountain bike 160kms over 4 legs and kayak 35kms over 2 legs.
The venue this year will be the Fleurieu Peninsula by Victor Harbour a popular tourist town south of Adelaide. The town is close to Kangaroo Island and a gateway to the wetlands of the Murray River Mouth. Offshore, southern right whales frequent the waters of Encounter Bay and the Heysen Trail runs across the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis. There are lots of opporunities for a fantastic championship course.
There will also be a 2 day stage race and a 6 hour sprint course available.
